Katie Simpson has been an ESL teacher for the past four years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), during which time she studied abroad in Paris, France at L’Université de la Sorbonne. While living in Paris, she taught English at a French elementary school where she cultivated her love for teaching ESL. After graduating from UCLA, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she received her Masters of Education in English Language Learning from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, she taught ESL at the College of Southern Nevada, as well as the High Beginning and Intermediate levels at a private English language school called the International Academy of English. In addition to being an ESL instructor at the language school, she was also the site director and head teacher for her campus. Before relocating to Anqing, China with her husband, she taught ESL at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, California while working in the International Services and Programs Department at College of the Canyons. She is honored to have the opportunity to teach at Anqing Foreign Language School and is excited to grow and expand her knowledge as an EFL instructor. She is looking forward to many memorable experiences in China while working with such bright and talented students and colleagues.
